That’s What She SED!!!

80% of you that are reading this right now are sitting down at the moment…

The Sedentary Lifestyle…I’m not pointing fingers, because even when I write most of my blog entries I’ve been sitting down as well. We live in an age where it has become the norm to sit for 8-12hrs a day behind a computer, sit on the couch and watch tv, and get little to no exercise at all…

The lack of physical activity (let alone lack of vigorous or high intensity exercise) is not only hurting society, but it is literally KILLING US. We’ve seen the rise in chronic health issues, obesity, and even overall laziness. We’ve all seen it or even scarier, been it…resting our soda’s on our bellies as we watch TV on the leather couch. The remote falls off the coffee table, and do we choose to get up, bend down, and pick it up? No, we start to slump down, stick the leg out, and try to kick it closer to you so that you’ll never have to leave your position from the couch.

I’ve been there, but never do I wanna be back. Nor do I want this for any of us. Life is way too short as it is, but certain poor choices we make will drastically shorten that precious lifespan even more. Think about your family, your friends, your future kids…health is one of the most priceless possessions to have and we must protect it all cost. I want my parents to be able to see their grand kids grow up, I want to see and be healthy enough to run around with my grandchildren in the future. ( Note: I’m nowhere near having kids =P ) I want to sit around with my friends when we’re 90 years old talking about the “good ole days.”

Get up, get out, walk around, run around, go for a hike, go for a bike ride, bend down and pick something off the floor, reach for something on that top shelf, jump for something on the even higher shelf, carry 20 grocery bags at once, push something heavy, pull yourself up, stretch, rotate, body roll, booty shake…and encourage others to do so as well, especially those you love.
