I’ve been gone for far too long. Summer’s just around the corner, so it is oh so necessary for me to fire up the blog posts once again and start DROPPIN SOME KNOWLEDGE BOMBS!!!
Let me serve one up for you really quick.
CG3.0 Word Problem of the Day:
Katie loves Krispy Kreme. Katie buys one original glazed Krispy Kreme donut (her favorite). If Katie eats said donut at 8pm, how many burpees does she have to do in order to burn off all 190 Calories (Fat11g,Carb21g,Brotein2g) of this oh so delicious treat?
0 friggin burpees! Katie is a nurse who just worked a 12 hour (7am-7pm) shift. Her alarm didn’t go off, so she had to rush to work and didn’t have time to make breakfast. Her unit was slammed, so not only was she on her feet the entire time running around, but she also didn’t have time to eat anything.
I did not provide any of the above information, nor did I mention her weight, height, number of days she works out, or dieting history, etc. There is so much information out there on losing weight/being fit, but unless given the correct context and framework behind these ideas, it’ll be impossible to achieve your goals.
This “word problem” falls under the concept of everyone having a certain Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), and a Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)…or to break it down into layman’s terms: we all burn a certain amount of calories per day just by living and breathing, even if we do or do not workout that day. My goal, as always, is to keep creating content, BUT ALSO, provide context and examples so that you all are able to understand these concepts better and will be able to cater it to YOUR specific goals based on you as an individual.
Be on the lookout for more blog posts, more IG shenanigans, and youtube channel blogs on the horizon???
